Proprietary Self-Cleaning Mechanism Helps Prevent Clogging
When the filtration unit of a Sludge Dewatering Press becomes clogged, filtrate discharge is significantly restricted, resulting in reduced dewatering performance. AMCON’s proprietary self-cleaning mechanism effectively suppresses clogging of the filtration unit, helping reduce the workload associated with routine cleaning and maintenance.
How the VOLUTE™ Filtration Unit Works
The filtration unit consists of alternating Fixed Rings and Moving Rings stacked with precise gaps between them. A single screw passes through the filtration unit to convey and compress the sludge. As the screw rotates at a constant speed and contacts the Moving Rings, the rings move continuously, cleaning the gaps between the rings.
How the VOLUTE DUO™ Filtration Unit Works
The filtration unit consists of alternating Fixed Rings and Moving Rings stacked with controlled gaps between them. Two screws convey and compress the sludge through the filtration unit.
The Moving Rings are driven by an external drive shaft, continuously cleaning the gaps between the rings during operation. Because wear components such as the Moving Rings and screws do not come into contact with each other, replacement of the filtration unit to maintain dewatering performance is not required.

The control system is designed for straightforward operation, making the equipment easy to use without specialized knowledge. Automatic operation control using various sensors enables 24-hour fully automatic unmanned operation, reducing manual tasks such as equipment start-up and shutdown. Because continuous operator supervision is unnecessary, the workload associated with daily operation, personnel changes, and operator handovers can also be reduced.

- Yes. VOLUTE DUO™ / VOLUTE™ Dewatering Presses are designed with a straightforward control system that makes daily operation simple for a wide range of operators. During equipment installation, we also provide operational guidance, helping your team become familiar with the system from the start.
- How much routine maintenance is required?
- VOLUTE DUO™ / VOLUTE™ feature a proprietary design that does not use filters or filter cloths. Compared with filter presses and filter cloth dewatering systems, fewer routine maintenance tasks are required. Specific inspection items and recommended maintenance intervals will be explained during equipment selection.
- How long will the equipment be out of service during maintenance?
- The required downtime depends on the scope of maintenance. Because repair and inspection work can generally be carried out at the installation site, equipment downtime can be reduced compared with dewatering systems that require the machine to be removed from the site, such as certain centrifuge systems. Estimated service time will be explained during equipment selection.
