Since its introduction in 1991, the VOLUTE™ Dewatering Press has been installed in 6,325 applications across 78 countries and regions (as of November 2025).

The system is used in a wide range of industries and applications, including municipal wastewater treatment plants, food and beverage processing, chemical manufacturing, machinery manufacturing, recycling facilities, and commercial buildings. Through experience with diverse sludge characteristics and installation environments, AMCON has accumulated extensive application expertise.

Supporting this success is AMCON’s global network, built on engineering expertise developed in Japan. After-Sales Support

AMCON products are engineered with safety, performance, and ease of maintenance in mind. However, maintaining stable operation over the long term requires regular inspections, replacement of wear parts, and appropriate maintenance.

Because wastewater and sludge characteristics vary depending on their source and operating conditions, treatment systems cannot always continue to operate under the same conditions as when they were first installed. To maintain stable treatment performance, operating conditions may need to be reviewed over time, and in some cases equipment modifications or customized engineering may be required.

At AMCON, our commitment extends beyond equipment delivery. Our dedicated service engineers continue to support customers after installation by evaluating actual operating conditions, listening to customer feedback, and providing technical support and improvement proposals based on what best meets each customer’s operational needs.

Drawing on decades of hands-on experience operating sludge treatment equipment and practical knowledge gained from sludge treatment facilities around the world, we provide more than maintenance. We also help customers improve treatment performance and reduce operating costs through practical engineering solutions.

In Japan, our service bases in Yokohama, Hyogo, and Hokkaido provide nationwide coverage. Supported by experienced service engineers, AMCON delivers responsive, high-quality after-sales support to help ensure the reliable long-term operation of customer facilities.

Quality Assurance System

AMCON has maintained a rigorous quality management system based on ISO 9001 certification since 2001, ensuring consistent quality throughout our manufacturing processes.

One example is the ring components used extensively in every VOLUTE™ Dewatering Press. Although these parts may appear simple, machining alone cannot completely eliminate burrs or minor distortion. Each ring is therefore individually inspected and hand-finished to meet our quality standards.

Quality control begins with the inspection of incoming components and continues throughout every stage of production, including assembly, piping, and electrical wiring. A comprehensive final inspection is conducted before shipment, with each machine undergoing more than 300 inspection items to verify that it meets our quality requirements before leaving the factory.

We continuously improve our inspection methods by reviewing procedures, refining inspection processes, and developing dedicated inspection tools to further enhance inspection accuracy and consistency.

Flexible Engineering Based on Real Operational Experience

Before recommending a sludge treatment solution, AMCON conducts sludge sample testing to evaluate dewatering performance, determine the most suitable polymer, and identify the optimal equipment configuration. This enables customers to verify treatment performance before installation and helps minimize the risk of unexpected results after commissioning.

Because we design and manufacture our Sludge Dewatering Presses in-house, we can provide Customized Engineering based on each customer’s operating requirements and installation conditions.
